Santen enters health partnership with IAPB
Santen announced it has joined the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB) as a global patron, as part of its new strategy towards 2030. Working together, Santen and IAPB will advocate to bring better eye health to all at global, country and regional levels.
“We are pleased to announce our partnership with IAPB,” said Shigeo Taniuchi, President and CEO of Santen. “Santen’s vision towards 2030 seeks to orchestrate and mobilise key technologies and players around the world, to deliver happiness through vision. Santen’s work has highlighted advancing ophthalmology and improving quality of vision (QOV) and quality of life (QOL) of people around the world. We are now keen to seek partnerships that will help multiply eye health impact – and the IAPB alliance presents a great opportunity to do so.”
“We are delighted to welcome Santen as Global Patrons,” said Peter Holland, CEO, IAPB. “IAPB’s strength is bringing together the diversity of the eye health sector and catalysing positive change. Santen is a social innovator in vision and with their knowledge and expertise, we have the potential to achieve our shared goals for vision and eye health by 2030.”
Santen and IAPB will be working on the following priorities:
- Advocating for vision as a global development priority, promoting the links between vision and sustainable development goals;
